ACD: Cracking the Digital Code for Claims Management

ACD

Ernie Bray, CEO, ACDErnie Bray, CEO
Having worked in multiple positions at two of the largest insurance carriers in the U.S., Ernie Bray—now the CEO of ACD—learned an important fact about the claims industry. Insurance claim processes were very convoluted and what made them even more problematic was the heavy dependency on manual and paper-intensive tasks. Bray envisioned a future that combined advanced technologies with high-end services would be able to address the numerous challenges and future demands of the insurance industry. Consequently, he founded ACD in 2003 to deliver a unique cloud-based technology platform that could automate, digitize, and streamline the entire claims process workflow for insurance companies and adjusters.

“Conventional paper-based operations and workflows eventually result in a communication gap during claim processing which plagues both the insurance companies and their customers. Our solution is designed to provide multiple, seamless communication channels that mitigate such challenges and provides exactly what our clients and their customers want,” states Bray. ACD’s platform is comprised of three main segments—AutoLink®, Self(ie)Service®, and SubroLink®.

AutoLink® provides carriers and adjusters a unified platform for communication, on-demand dispatching and management of the entire material damage process.

ACD’s platform is designed to speed up every step of the complex claims management process while making it highly cost-effective for both insurers and their customers

Powerful reporting allows carriers to access actionable data and better administer their claims operations. In addition, ACD’s solution features a collision repair shop network that allows any shop to communicate and upload their estimates and photographs into the software. The platform is designed with the sole mission of speeding up every step of the complex claims management process through automation while making it highly cost-effective for both insurers and their customers. Self(ie)Service® is the ideal mobile solution that allows any end consumer to take photographs of their vehicle and simply share it with the insurer via AutoLink®. The entire process is further complemented by the final segment, SubroLink®. SubroLink® is the premier subrogation demand review software that simplifies this time consuming process by automating tasks and improving efficiency. SubroLink® has netted millions in actual savings for ACD’s clients.

“The secret to our success is our highly client-focused approach and thorough market research combined with a relentless drive to innovate,” remarks Bray. The company always looks to improve its offerings, deliver newer technologies, and streamline client processes through deep analysis of what customers require today and what they will need in the future. Such an approach has greatly benefitted ACD’s clients. For instance, an insurance company was encountering profound difficulties with its own network of 350 independent appraisers. Through use of ACD’s platform, the company could accurately monitor and dispatch its appraisers based on their previous performance, proximity to the appointment site and then triage appropriately if the situation warranted an in-person inspection not possible with Self(ie)Service®. This resulted in the company processing its claims much faster and saving significant operational costs.

ACD has received considerable recognition for the value it brings to the industry with its ground-breaking solutions. However, the firm aims to go beyond what it has achieved to date. ACD has been aggressively working towards integrating advanced AI, machine learning, and computer vision technologies into its platform. This will allow them to substantially forge ahead of their competitors and gain a much larger market share in the insurtech space in the immediate future.
